Donato Bramante was an Italian architect and painter.  He introduced the High Renaissance in architecture and is widely considered the greatest architect of the style.

 

His two most notable works are St. Peter's Basilica Rome, and the Tempietto which is largely regarded as one of the greatest examples of High Renaissance Architecture.
